Sales and Application Engineer, SPK Cutting Tools
We are looking for a highly motivated and driven sales engineer, capable of growing and developing a growing market. The suitable candidate will be expected to quickly develop applications focused knowledge to enable a solution sales-based approach in a business-to-business sales environment.
The role will be targeting opportunities across France and there is an expectation of a high level of travel. Most existing accounts are situated in the following regions of France:
- Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
- Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
- Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur
Typically, we would expect the successful candidate to be with customers (face to face) 4 days per week and 1 day per week in the office (or home office if applicable).
The role reports to the Senior Areas Sales Manager based in Germany. For ease of communication with their line manager and the application engineering team based in Germany, fluency in English or German is critical.

Key Duties of the Position:
Meet and exceed set sales targets, contributing to the global Factory Applications business growth.
Acquire and develop new business in France as well as maintain and expand existing customers in the automotive, aerospace industry and their suppliers, general mechanical engineering and the roll industry, distributor support.
Carry out product presentations and provide technical advice on site.
Research and identify potential prospects for generating new leads and future business partners to promote the sales and consulting of tools and tool holder systems from SPK® cutting materials.
Execute test´s to optimize existing products as well as introducing new products to suit the individual’s and target market requirements.
Ensure all visits and test reports are fully documented and followed up on where actions are required.
Meet regularly with customers to understand and define their needs, ensuring maximum client satisfaction is achieved.
Forecast sales orders and assist the timely and successful delivery of goods.
Collaborate with the team and provide innovative sales solutions and strategies to improve the company’s overall performance year on year.
Participate in trade fairs to represent the company and the products.

Target Candidate Background
Target candidates with a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience in Sales.
Ideally possess a degree or equivalent within a technical subject (engineering or science orientated).
Ideally possess a structured sales trained background.
Minimum of at least three years of professional experience in the field of machining (cast and steel materials) as well as in dealing with customers in the automotive & aerospace industry and with distribution partners as well.
Proven track record of building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Ideally demonstrate working experience of Salesforce and SAP.
